Mónica Bolaños, until a few weeks ago Guatemala’s ambassador to Spain, has left her post to take charge of the Guatemalan Embassy in Ecuador.

Bolaños has been at the head of the Mission in Spain for two years and five months -since 11 February 2021-, during which time she has been intensely active in strengthening bilateral relations and promoting her country.

It is not yet known who will replace Mónica Bolaños at the Embassy in Spain. For the time being, Minister Counsellor Marlene Reynoso, who arrived in Spain in January of this year, has taken on the leadership of the Embassy as Chargé d’Affaires a.i.
