Next Monday, June 5th at 7pm, the book Voces de la diáspora dominicana en España II (Voices of the Dominican Diaspora in Spain II) will be presented in the Salón de Embajadores of Casa América. Free entrance until full capacity is reached.
This work is a literary project of the Embassy of the Dominican Republic that brings together the stories and experiences of ten young Dominicans living in Spain who have been awarded the School Merit Award and describe in the stories their feelings and realities of belonging to two cultures: Spanish and Dominican.
The testimonies of Iván Dono Doñé, Carmen Lucía Acosta Novas, Ricardo Pereira, Ana Alfau, Rodrigo González Abreu, Gloria Pérez, Arantxa Esther González Báez, Pamela Andreina Santana Torres, Emily Alexandra and Alba Ledesma reveal the efforts of young people who have arrived from the Dominican Republic or of Dominican descent, to present them as an example to the community settled in Spain, the second nation in volume of nationals who have emigrated in the last six decades, who, even acquiring a second nationality, proudly cultivate their roots.
Participating in the presentation will be Juan Bolívar Díaz, ambassador of the Dominican Republic in Spain; Ada Wiscovitch Carlo, ambassador consort of the Dominican Republic to the Kingdom of Spain, compiler and editor of the book; Samuel Esteban, first secretary of the embassy of the Dominican Republic in Spain and in charge of cultural affairs and press; Iván Dono Doñé, co-author, and Arantxa González, co-author.
