From 24 to 27 May next, the Cines Verdi (calle Bravo Murillo, 28) presents a Korean film season organised together with the Centro Cultural Coreano, with the best titles of the past year 2022.
The films to be shown are:
The Novelist and Her Movie (Hong Sang-soo), Wednesday, 24 May, at 20.15; the famous novelist Junhee meets with two friends and the evening seems to be charged with a certain bitterness.
Minari. The Story of My Family (Lee Isaac Chung), Thursday, 25 May, 8.15pm. A Korean family moves to Arkansas to start a farm in the 1980s, hoping to achieve the American dream.
Broker (Hirokazu Koreeda), Friday, 26 May, at 11.30 a.m. One rainy night a young woman abandons her baby outside a church. The newborn is picked up by two men who are in the business of stealing abandoned babies to sell them to parents willing to pay a fee.
Hunt. Hunt for the Spy (Lee Jung-jae), Saturday, 27 May, at 11.30 a.m. South Korea, 1980. After the assassination of President Park by the Korean intelligence agency, the military seizes power again. North Korea sees this as an opportunity for a future invasion and sends in one of its spies.
