Colombia will be the country in charge of organising the ‘VI Ibero-American Forum of MSMEs’ which will take place next November and which is the prelude to the ‘XV Ibero-American Business Meeting’, to be held within the framework of the ‘XXIX Summit of Heads of State and Government’ in Ecuador at the end of 2024.
This was agreed at a meeting held in Madrid, on the occasion of the state visit of the President of Colombia, Gustavo Petro, which was attended by the Ibero-American Secretary General, Andrés Allamand; the Colombian Minister of Trade, Industry and Tourism, Germán Umaña; the Permanent Secretary of the Ibero-American Business Council (CEIB), Narciso Casado and the President of ProColombia, Carmen Caballero.
The MSME Forum is a space for public-private dialogue to promote economic recovery and highlight the priorities and challenges facing the region. One of the main aims of this meeting is to debate and reflect on the challenges facing small and medium-sized enterprises.
“This sixth edition will undoubtedly be a good opportunity to think about a productive Ibero-America that interconnects its innovation ecosystems and promotes more and better small and medium-sized enterprises,” says a CEIB press release.
The note adds that the ‘VI Ibero-American Forum of MSMEs’ will also be an opportunity to share good business practices, improve productivity in the region, provide assistance and training tools, improve access to financing and promote the internationalisation process of this type of company.
