The Taiwan Presidential Hackathon, a marathon competition for computer programmers from around the world, is celebrating a new edition this year, which this time aims to convey the concept that “digital transition and open data help social transition”.
It is an initiative launched in 2019 by the Presidential Office of the Republic of China (Taiwan), with the intention of fostering cross-border, interdisciplinary and public-private collaborations so that data owners, data scientists and specialists from various fields can interact, proposing solutions to common problems with the help of innovative technology and ideas.
The initiative aims to bring together computer programmers from around the world in Taiwan to generate, through citizen participation, technology and the use of open data, solutions to city problems. Participants are expected to come up with innovative ideas for data applications that improve people’s lives and promote new methods of governance.
The registration period for the competition is now open and ends on 31 May. The application form, as well as further details of the event, can be found at the following link.
