The Minister of the Presidency, Relations with the Courts and Democratic Memory, Félix Bolaños, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation, José Manuel Albares, have agreed to jointly promote activities abroad for the recognition and reparation of victims of the Civil War and the dictatorship.
Both ministers signed an inter-ministerial collaboration agreement yesterday to recover the Democratic Memory linked to the Spanish Republican exile, within the framework of the Democratic Memory Law.
By virtue of the agreement, measures will be carried out to guarantee the recognition and reparation of the victims abroad of the Civil War and the dictatorship, through the coordination and financing of different activities.
Said activities, as reported by the Ministry of the Presidency in a statement, will be carried out by Spanish embassies and consular offices in the United States, Mexico, Chile, Argentina, Puerto Rico, Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, France, Belgium, Germany, Sweden and Austria.
Among them, the Presidency specified, will include acts to commemorate May 8, Day of remembrance and homage to the victims of exile; commemorative works and activities around places of memory; meetings with the exile memorialist associations and research, dissemination and digitization actions.
