The Government of Spain, through the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID), has activated the humanitarian action agreement it has with the NGO Action Against Hunger to assist the population displaced in Syunik (Armenia) by the conflict in Nagorno Karabakh.
The activation, with an amount contributed by the Agency of 100,000 euros, will provide economic and psychosocial support to some 250 displaced families over the next three months.
In total, 250 highly vulnerable displaced households – approximately 1,000 people – will receive financial assistance to meet their immediate needs, focusing on pregnant and lactating women, single-parent families and households with several children and persons with disabilities residing in the 13 border communities of the consolidated community of Goris, including the town of Goris.
In addition, the project will support 100 displaced persons in need of psychosocial and mental health support through the Armenian NGO Partnership and Teaching, based in the city of Goris in Syunik, through its multifunctional social protection center.
