The next event in the In Scena a Palazzo cycle organised by the Instituto Italiano de Cultura of Madrid takes place this evening at 8 p.m. with the trio Hack Out!
The three musicians: Manuel Caliumi, alto saxophone; Luca Zennaro, electric guitar, and Riccardo Cocetti, drums, will present live their second album Sad Music For Happy Elevators. Hack Out! is an unusual, fresh and consciously desacralising project; starting from solid jazz roots, the trio’s musical structure is made up of elements of rock, contemporary music and radical improvisation. The absence of the bass guitar is a precise choice that allows the three young musicians to carry out in-depth research in the field of interplay and timbral experimentation.
The music of Hack Out! is born in the torrid summer heat of the Emilia Apennines, grows between the canals of the Chioggia lagoon, becomes adult and a little drunk by the thousand lights of Paris. It is nourished by the jazz of its origins and rock’n’roll, it draws strength from radical improvisation, it quenches its thirst in the bowl of contemporary music. It is a Frankenstein of influences and contaminations, a gentle and angular monster, a sweet clash between the personalities of the three musicians. Free admission with prior reservation by writing to confirmaciones.iicmadrid@gmail.com and indicating the name, surname and telephone number of all persons for whom the reservation is requested and in the subject “3 April”.
