The US State Department has sent its ambassador-at-large for Cyberspace and Digital Policy (CDP), Nathaniel C. Fick, one of the top cybersecurity officials after Anne Neuberger, Deputy National Security Advisor for Cyber and Emerging Technology at the White House, to the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.

Fick has led a multi-agency government delegation that includes Federal Communications Commission Chairman Jessica Rosenworcel, Under Secretary of Commerce and NTIA Administrator Alan Davidson, PDC Deputy Assistant Secretary Steve Lang, and PDC Senior Advisor Anna Gomez, who is leading the US preparations for the International Telecommunications Union’s World Radiocommunications Conference.

The delegation will be in Spain until Wednesday, and during their stay is meeting with government and industry leaders, including top executives of multinational companies, according to the State Department.

The ambassador discussed with his interlocutors cooperation on connectivity, secure information and communications technology (ICT) infrastructure, spectrum management and ICT-related policy priorities.

On 2-3 March, Fick will travel to Brussels for consultations with the European Union and the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation. He will meet with representatives of European Commission bodies, including the European External Action Service and the Directorate-General for Communications Networks, Content and Technology, to exchange views on cyber and digital priorities.

The Ambassador will also participate in an event organised by Sweden in its capacity as President of the Council of the EU on strengthening transatlantic relations on cyber and digital issues. On the 3rd he will meet with NATO Permanent Representatives to discuss US cyber assistance and support.
