Without expressly mentioning Ukraine, the Ibero-American heads of state and government expressed, in the final declaration of the Santo Domingo Summit, a general commitment to “work for peace in the world”, while at the same time expressing their support for “democracy, the rule of law and the United Nations Charter”.

The XXVIII Ibero-American Summit, which closed on Saturday, also approved the ‘Ibero-American Environmental Charter’, which aims to have a common instrument to face environmental challenges -climate change, pollution, loss of biodiversity or scarcity of water resources- that affect Ibero-American countries more severely.

At the proposal of Spain, the ‘Ibero-American Charter of Principles and Rights in Digital Environments’ was also approved, the aim of which is to serve as a guide for national legislators so that “the construction of the information society is centered on people” and human rights are protected in the digital sphere.
