Gabriele Lavia recites poet Leopardi works at Instituto Italiano de Cultura

On the occasion of World Poetry Day and as part of the cycle In scena a Palazzo, tomorrow Wednesday at 8 p.m., the Instituto Italiano de Cultura of Madrid presents Lavia “dice Leopardi”, with one of the most representative actors and directors of Italian theatre of the last fifty years, Gabriele Lavia.

Gabriele Lavia neither reads nor interprets, but pours on the audience, in an absolutely personal way in form and substance, the most intense Leopardian lyrics, from A Silvia to Passero solitario, from Canto notturno di un pastore errante dell’Asia to La sera del dì di festa. Leopardi stayed in Pisa for nine months, between 1827 and 1828, where he seemed to be reborn, and to find a balance that led him to dilute once again in the sweetness of poetic intuition the disenchantment and bitterness of the Operette morali [Moral Dialogues].

The Milanese actor and director wishes to pay homage to the poet, to his stay in Pisa, to his new desire to explore words and sound at a time in his life that turned into exalting artistic creativity.

Free admission upon reservation by writing to confirmaciones.iicmadrid@gmail.com and indicating name, surname and contact telephone number of all persons for whom reservations are required and in the subject line “22 March”. Show in Italian.
