Davy Chou, Cambodian-French origin filmmaker, has released in Spain the film Retorno a Seúl (Return to Seoul). In this, his second feature film, Chou offers an absorbing, carefully shot and moving story about the origins of a young woman, Freddie, 25 years old and raised in France, in search of her past.
The protagonist returns for the first time to South Korea, where she was born before being adopted. The stubborn young woman begins to search for her biological parents in a country she barely knows, taking her life down new and unexpected paths.
The film was selected by Cambodia as a nominee for the Oscars in the Best Foreign Film category, and is a beautiful inner journey shot with sensitivity and technical mastery.
