As part of its programme for Ramadan 2023, which begins tomorrow, Thursday 23rd March, and ends next Friday 21st April, Casa Árabe is organising a concert on Saturday 25th March, starting at 8.30 p.m. in Parque Aluche de Madrid (c/ de Illescas, 149), featuring the artist Marwán, who will be preceded by Ede. Admission is free until the venue is full.
At sunset, Muslims break the fast of the ninth month of their calendar, dedicated to the purification of the body, charitable actions and spiritual closeness. But it is also a tradition to share and be generous, to get together with family and friends on nights that are prolonged and celebrated with cultural events. Casa Árabe is keeping this tradition alive and is offering this free concert with two figures of great importance on the music scene: Marwán and Ede.
For the past decade, Marwán has been considered one of the leading voices of singer-songwriters in Spain and Latin America. A faithful follower of his references (Sabina, Serrat, Aute, Silvio Rodríguez, Ismael Serrano, Jorge Drexler, Nach, Calamaro, Residente, etc.), he has managed to cultivate his own sound and, on his latest tour, he has surprised us with a staging far removed from his predecessors, more typical of rock, with the exuberant energy of a true showman.
In his most recent album, El Viejo Boxeador, he has reached a great level of lyrical and sonic refinement, making it clear that rhythm and lyrics, depth and fun can be mixed to make his concerts a party like no other singer-songwriter of his ilk has ever seen before.
