Tomorrow, Tuesday at 11 a.m., the Fundación Alternativas presents a webinar entitled Brazil: Expectations on the new Lula, as part of the Cycle of new progressive Latin American governments.
This cycle analyses the keys to understanding the arrival of left-wing leaders to power in Latin America and the possible evolution of governments in countries such as Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico and Bolivia. Combining analysis from three different perspectives (academic, experts and public decision-makers), the aim of each case study is to shed light on several fundamental axes: institutionalism and democracy, public policies and regional/international projection.
Manuel Hidalgo, Professor of International Politics and researcher at the Figuerola Institute, Carlos III University of Madrid, will introduce the debate that will take place between María Herminia Tavares, Professor and Director of the Institute of International Relations at the University of Sao Paulo, and André Moreira Cunha, Professor of Economics (Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul) and Visiting Professor at the Autonomous University of Madrid. The event will conclude with the participation of Julimar da Silva Bichara, Professor of Economic Structure and Development Economics at the Autonomous University of Madrid, who will highlight the conclusions reached. The debate can be accessed via this link.
