The Government of Spain yesterday showed “its dismay” at the military operation carried out by Israel in Nablus, in the northern West Bank, which has ended with a toll of a dozen dead and nearly a hundred wounded.
In a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Spain called for “a proportionate use of force, with full respect for international humanitarian law” and asked the parties to “exercise restraint and refrain from acts that contribute to this escalation of violence.”
“Spain reiterates its commitment to the two-state solution, the only response to the legitimate national aspirations of Palestinians and Israelis,” the communiqué concluded.
