The Permanent Secretary of the Ibero-American Business Council-CEIB, Narciso Casado, has traveled this week to the Dominican Republic to discuss with the Ministers of Industry and Trade of the Ibero-American community the preparations for the XIV Ibero-American Business Meeting (EEI), which will take place within the framework of the Summit of Heads of State and Government.
During his participation before the II Ibero-American Conference of Ministers of Industry and Trade of Ibero-America, Casado said yesterday that the XIV EEI, to be held on March 23 and 24 in Santo Domingo under the slogan Together, towards a fair and sustainable Ibero-America, is “the most important business meeting in the region and an enriching space for debate to analyze the main challenges, challenges and opportunities for the well-being and growth of Ibero-America”.
The meeting, he continued, is expected to be attended by more than one thousand Ibero-American businessmen, as well as important government authorities and prominent representatives of institutions, multilateral organizations and business organizations.
Casado explained that the event will revolve around a series of thematic axes, which highlight the main challenges for the region: sustainability and climate action as key factors for recovery, new financing models for the development of sustainable businesses, economic prospects for Ibero-America in the face of the challenge of recovery and the new transformation, gender equality as a transformative driver of the new transitions, connectivity and infrastructure in the Ibero-American space, energy and ecological transition in Ibero-America, digital transformation as the basis for productive and sustainable innovation, and tourism in Ibero-America as the great lever for recovery.
The Business Meeting, Casado reported, will be held at the Sans Souci Convention Center, which consists of 4,400 square meters of facilities on two floors, and will have stands for companies, meeting rooms, spaces for side events and a technological connectivity platform so that all participants and interested parties can connect.
The event, organized by CEIB and SEGIB, also has the collaboration of the Ibero-American Federation of Young Entrepreneurs-FIJE and its associations, given that young people play a decisive role in the present and future of the region. In fact, within the framework of the Meeting, FIJE will hold its annual congress, in which training, talent retention and entrepreneurship will be some of the priority topics to be discussed.
CEIB Permanent Secretary Narciso Casado also took advantage of his visit to the Dominican Republic to meet with prominent authorities of the island and with representatives of the Follow-up Committee of the XIV Ibero-American Business Meeting, of which Dominican business organizations are members.
