The Diplomat
The designer Ágatha Ruiz de la Prada was the star of the reception hosted on Tuesday by the Bulgarian ambassador to Spain, Aleksey Andreev, under the slogan ‘More Bulgaria in Spain and more Spain in Bulgaria’, organised in partnership with Bulan Consulting Spain. The aim is to take advantage of the Spanish artist’s upcoming fashion show in Sofia to promote tourism to the Balkan country.
The ambassador, who described Ruiz de la Prada as “a true ambassador of Spanish fashion“, pointed out that the fashion show scheduled for the end of March “has created a great deal of expectation in Bulgaria, as “Ágatha’s shows are true works of art that attract all those who value culture and artistic creation“.
The designer said she was “really excited” for being so “lucky and honoured” to be able to make this trip. “It’s wonderful to feel so supported by this cool embassy,” she added.
Andreev encouraged the many people attending the reception to visit Bulgaria, “which is still a great unknown” and which treasures “spectacular nature and a millenary history”. The ambassador stressed the importance of “getting to know each other better, of strengthening ties, because we belong to the same cultural sphere and because getting to know each other better means trusting each other more”.
