As part of Reading Nights, a cycle dedicated to the celebration of French literature, the Instituto Francés of Madrid is screening tomorrow Wednesday at 8pm the film Promesa al amanecer (La Promesse de l’aube), by Éric Barbier, an adaptation of the autobiography of Romain Gary, the famous French writer, published in 1960.
His difficult childhood in Poland, his exodus to the south of France as a teenager and his career in the French Air Force in Africa during the Second World War… Romain Gary had an extraordinary life. But his passion to live a thousand lives, to become a great man and a famous writer he owes to his mother, Nina. The mad love of this overprotective and eccentric mother will make him one of the most important writers of the 20th century. Reservations to attend this screening can be made at this link.
