Indra has been awarded a contract worth 15 million euros to implement its navigation systems in 17 airports in 12 African countries operated by Asecna.
The Spanish company will supply its Normarc instrument landing system (ILS) and distance measurement system (DME), install them and put them into operation, according to a statement.
It will also train technical staff in the operation of the 12 distance measuring devices (DMEs), 18 localisers and 14 glide guidance systems it will provide as part of the contract.
Indra will also install navigation aid systems in ASECNA’s maintenance laboratory in Senegal and will provide comprehensive in-plant and in-country training for Air Traffic Safety Electronics Personnel (ATSEP).
Indra will install this equipment in airports in Benin, Cameroon, Congo, Ivory Coast, Gabon, Equatorial Guinea, Madagascar, Mauritania, Chad, Togo, Burkina Faso and in a training centre in Senegal.
