On the nights of 3 and 4 January, Madrid will witness SPARK, an unprecedented light show, as part of the programme designed by the City Council’s Department of Culture, Tourism and Sport to celebrate Christmas in the Jardines de Sabatini, with access from Calle Bailén, opposite the Senate.
Through a combination of design and technology, thousands of sparks of light made from biodegradable materials float silently, moved by the ever-changing wind. The installation is inspired by the magical light of fireflies and the stars of our galaxy.
Thanks to the growing collaboration between Studio Roosegaarde, Draiflessen Collection and The Wellbeing Summit, artist Daan Roosegaarde has come to develop this innovative and enchanting landscape artwork, which aims to transform our fear of the future into curiosity and invites everyone to be part of the journey towards an environmentally friendly city.
