The new Ambassador of Honduras to Spain, Marlon Brevé Reyes, yesterday presented the Copies of his Letters of Credence to the Ambassadors’ introducer, María Sebastián de Erice.

Marlon Brevé will fill the vacancy left in January of this year by María Dolores Agüero, who stepped down after Xiomara Castro assumed the Presidency of Honduras.

The new ambassador was Minister of Education between 2006 and 2009, during the government of Manuel Zelaya, husband of the current Honduran president.

Brevé was until now rector of the Central American Technological University (Unitec), which he joined in 2010. He holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering and a master’s degree from Louisiana State University and a PhD in Biological and Agricultural Engineering from North Carolina State University in the United States.

Honduran Foreign Minister Enrique Reina, when announcing his appointment as ambassador, described Marlon Brevé as “a person with a great deal of experience in both the governmental and educational fields” and expressed his conviction that he would contribute to strengthening relations with Spain.
