Pablo Cambronero, a member of the Mixed Group, has submitted a question to Congress asking the Government to inform him of the exact activities to which the 21 million euros it has donated to the Moroccan company Jaida will be devoted.
Cambronero’s question comes after the Council of Ministers on Tuesday approved the donation of one million euros from the Fund for the Promotion of Development for technical assistance to the entity Jaida S.A., to which it already granted a loan of 20 million euros on 11 October of this year.
According to the reference of the Council of Ministers, the million euros granted now aims to provide technical assistance “for the creation of products to finance and support the ecosystems of cooperatives in Morocco”, as well as the extension of Jaida’s activity “towards the financing of the social and solidarity economy in Morocco”.
The MP, who left Ciudadanos to join the Mixed Group, also wants to know “who are the owners, shareholders and specific projects” of Jaida, a company apparently run by Kahlid Safir, a close collaborator of King Mohamed VI.
Cambronero asks “why is the government so concerned about the Moroccan economy and its economic development? And furthermore, if “any member of the government has any economic or any other kind of interest in Morocco”.
On his Twitter account, where he posted these questions, Cambronero refers to the “constant donations to Morocco” and adds: “We need to investigate, it stinks…”.
