Music, nativity scenes, parades, traditional markets and many other activities will flood the streets of Madrid during this magical festive season in an exceptional setting that will host a varied and extraordinary programme of shows and activities for all audiences. Theatre, ice rinks, crafts, gastronomy and a host of other activities, which have been specially designed for families and children, will also feature in the programme that the Department of Culture, Tourism and Sport has designed under the slogan Tu Navidad está en Madrid (Your Christmas is in Madrid).
The artistic installation Evanescent will offer a light show in the Plaza de la Armería. Italy is the guest country at Madrid, Navidad de encuentro in Matadero Madrid, a space that will host some of the most important activities in the programme. The Serrería Belga Cultural Space will host an extensive programme of activities for the whole family. Music will fill Madrid with the traditional zambombada, the proposals of Condeduque and concerts in balconies, squares and churches throughout the city. The capital will welcome the year with SPARK, an unprecedented light show in the Sabatini Gardens. The group León Benavente, together with the Municipal Symphonic Band of Madrid, will give the traditional Epiphany Concert at the Teatro Real.
