Looking towards Palestine. Journalism and culture do not support walls is the title of the event presented by the Teatro del Barrio (calle Zurita, 20) on 29 November at 7 pm on the occasion of the International Day of Solidarity with Palestine. Free admission with prior reservation at this link.
This event, organised by the BDS Madrid movement (Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions against Israel), is a call to listen to Palestine so that journalism and culture do not support walls, to raise awareness among neighbours through this event, which will have a format of small interventions.
The event will include the participation of people from the field of culture and journalism, such as Teresa Aranguren, Moha Gereou, Sarah Babiker, Lucía Mbomío, Carlos Taibo, Anita Botwin, Youssef M. Ouled and many more! In addition, there will be the opportunity to hear from a very special guest, the Spanish-Palestinian visual journalist Maysun.
The BDS campaign is an international non-violent initiative, with, in their words, “three main demands based on international law: an end to the occupation and colonisation of any and all Arab lands and the dismantling of the West Bank Wall; the recognition of the fundamental rights of the Arab-Palestinian citizenry of Israel and their full equality before the law; and to respect, protect and promote the rights of Palestinian refugees to return to their homes and property, as stipulated in the UN resolution.”
