Organised by the Instituto Italiano de Cultura of Madrid, under the auspices of the Italian Embassy, the 15th Madrid Italian Film Festival is being held until 30 November at the Cine Paz (Calle de Fuencarral, 125), every day from 6 p.m. with free admission, with more than 40 films for all audiences, with previews in original version with subtitles and free screenings of feature films, documentaries and short films that have never been released in Spain. A surprising journey through contemporary Italian cinema.
Great titles such as “Leonora Addio” by Paolo Taviani, “Nostalgia” by Mario Martone, “Monica” by Andrea Pallaoro, “Aqua e Anice” by Corrado Ceron, “Piano Piano” by Nicola Prosatore, “Piove” by Paolo Strippoli, “Una Femmina” by Francesco Costabile, are the feature films programmed in this edition. In addition, this year the Festival presents in absolute preview outside Italy “Il ragazzo e la tigre”, with Spanish subtitles, by Brando Quilici.
The 7 documentaries and 6 short films in competition have been selected from among those that have participated in this year’s international film festivals, such as “Sergio Leone, l’italiano che inventó l’America” and “Sophia!” to pay tribute to two of the Italian legends of world cinema.
Similarly, audiences from all over Spain will be able to enjoy a selection of films online through the Festival’s website, which has been so successful in previous editions. The complete programme and timetable can be consulted at this link.
