Diplomat José Luis González García is the new Deputy Director General for Bilateral Relations with Sub-Saharan African Countries at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, once Natividad Isabel Peña has taken up her post as Spanish Ambassador to Zimbabwe.
José Luis González García, who entered the diplomatic service in 2004, was assigned to the Spanish Embassy in Dakar, where he was the second-in-command.
Previously, the new head of relations with Sub-Saharan African countries was also ‘number two’ at the Spanish embassies in Equatorial Guinea and Pakistan.
He has also held the post of Consul General in Moscow, Consul General in Algiers and Deputy Consul in Jerusalem.
