The President of Ukraine, Volodimir Zelenski, has decorated the PP Foreign Affairs spokeswoman in Congress, Valentina Martínez Ferro, in recognition of her support for the sovereignty and integrity of her country after the invasion of Ukraine.
According to Martínez herself on her Twitter account, Zelenski has awarded her the Order of Princess Olga “for the efforts to improve relations between Ukraine and Spain and the support for its sovereignty and territorial integrity in the most difficult times in its history”.
The PP spokeswoman assured that the party led by Alberto Núñez Feijóo will continue to work “tirelessly to support Ukraine’s accession to the EU and NATO”.
“The brave Ukrainian people deserve it and Europe owes it to them,” said Martínez, who took the opportunity to thank the Ukrainians for their “struggle for freedom and democracy”. “Thank you for defending our common values”, she said.
Ukraine has been awarding the Order of Princess Olga to outstanding women in various fields since 1997. The Ukrainian president presented it to the Speaker of the US House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi during her visit to Kyiv in May.
