The Minister of Foreign Affairs, José Manuel Albares, assured yesterday at the Paris Peace Forum that the Government is committed to its feminist foreign policy because it represents a “hallmark of Spain’s identity”.
During his intervention in a panel on feminist diplomacy, Albares stressed that this policy is the logical reflection of the feminist domestic policy, “founded on a very broad social consensus and on the work of feminist movements in our country.” “Spain is among the leading countries in the fight against gender violence,” stressed the minister, who assured that Foreign Affairs has strengthened protection services for women victims of violence with the adoption of an Action Protocol that applies to all Spanish Embassies.
Albares spoke yesterday at the fifth edition of the Paris Peace Forum, an event sponsored by the French government that has been bringing together political, economic and civil society leaders since 2018 to improve global governance, with a particular North-South focus.
