The Mayor of Madrid, José Luis Martínez-Almeida, received yesterday in his office the Ambassador of Romania, George Bologan, according to his Twitter account.
Bologan indicated his satisfaction at the meeting with the mayor of “one of the capitals that best values history and modernity, culture and economic development, and that today thousands of Romanians, myself included, consider it their home”.
Currently, the number of Romanians living in Madrid is around 50,000, although in the Madrid region as a whole there are more than 250,000 who live in one of its towns, mainly in Alcalá de Henares, Coslada, Arganda del Rey or Torrejón de Ardoz.
