The Diplomat
The Ambassador of Luxembourg, Christian Biever, travelled to Seville last Tuesday to preside over the inauguration ceremony of the new headquarters of the Honorary Consulate of Luxembourg in the Andalusian capital.
The facilities are located in the Colegio Internacional San Francisco de Paula, an institution directed by Luis Rey Goñi, who has held the post of Honorary Consul since 2020.
During his stay in Seville, Ambassador Christian Biever, accompanied by Luis Rey Goñi, completed an extensive agenda of meetings with different institutions. The two men met with representatives of the Andalusian Regional Government, the Seville City Council, the Chamber of Commerce and the Port of Seville, and the La Cartuja Science and Technology Park.
In addition, the ambassador and the honorary consul received executives from different companies at the new headquarters and attended a concert by the Joven Orquesta Internacional de Sevilla.
The visit of the Luxembourg ambassador is a clear endorsement of the activity of the Honorary Consulate, a body designed to defend the interests of the Luxembourgish residents in the western provinces of Andalusia and those who travel to them as tourists, as well as to promote Andalusia in the Central European country and to encourage, as far as possible, diplomatic, social and commercial relations between the two territories.
