Ecuador will play on Saturday, November 12, at 18h30, against the Iraq national team, its last preparatory match for the Qatar 2022 World Cup. The match will take place at the Cívitas Metropolitano stadium in Madrid, according to the Ecuadorian Embassy in Spain.
Ecuador qualified for the World Cup for the first time in eight years.
“We are very happy to play in Spain and in a great stadium like the Cívitas Metropolitano. We hope to see the whole Ecuadorian community and enjoy a great match, which will help us prepare for the World Cup,” said the president of the Ecuadorian Football Federation (FEF), Francisco Egas.
Their opponent will be Iraq, currently ranked 68th in the FIFA rankings, who have a similar style to Qatar, Ecuador’s first group opponents.
