The Centro Sefarad-Israel is hosting a meeting this afternoon at 6 p.m. with a delegation from the Women Wage Peace platform, made up of Jewish and Arab Israeli women who collaborate with Palestinian women. Free entrance until full capacity is reached.
This delegation is visiting Spain these days to consolidate its objective, that its voice be heard in the peace negotiations on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, as stated in Resolution 1325 of the United Nations Council.
The non-partisan women’s platform Women Wage Peace is the largest grassroots peace movement in Israel today. They are driven by a deep yearning and desire to bring an end to the conflict. WWP is an inclusive movement that brings together Jewish, Arab, Druze and Bedouin women from the political left, centre and right, young and old, from the centre of the country and its periphery, religious and secular. WWP has been joined by the recently formed “Women of the Sun” movement, which brings together Palestinian women from the West Bank, East Jerusalem and the Gaza Strip. Both movements decided to come out together to fight for peace by empowering women from diverse communities to build trust, which in turn leads to a unified demand for diplomatic negotiations with full representation of women to end the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
