Next Sunday 23 October at 12 noon at the Teatro Lope de Vega, the Fundación Excelentia will pay tribute to the great composer John Williams on his 90th birthday last February.
The Royal Film Concert Orchestra, conducted by Fernando Furones, will be in charge of performing the famous film soundtracks composed by the prestigious composer born on February 8, 1932 in Queens, USA.
Throughout his extensive career, Williams created some of the most memorable songs in film history, including the scores and iconic themes for George Lucas’ six Star Wars films and the first three Harry Potter films. He also composed themes for some of NBC’s news programmes and for the 1984, 1988, 1996 and 2002 Olympic Games. He is especially known for his lush symphonic style, which helped bring symphonic scores back into fashion once synthesizers became the norm.
Main themes from Star Wars, Jurassic Park, Schindler’s List, E.T., Olimpic Fanfare and Theme, Star Wars: Imperial March, Born on the Fourth of July, Jaws, The Mission, Memoirs of a Geisha, Hook, Indiana Jones and Superman will once again delight concertgoers. Tickets can be purchased at this link.
