The Embassy of Lithuania in collaboration with the City Council of Madrid and the Embassy of Ukraine will screen the film Mariúpol 2 on Tuesday 25 October at 8 p.m. at the Cineteca Madrid (Matadero de Madrid, Plaza de Legazpi, 8).
This is the posthumous documentary by Lithuanian director Mantas Kvedaravicius, a victim of the war that ravaged his country in April 2022 during the siege of the Ukrainian city of Mariúpol. His partner, Hanna Bilobrova, recovered the body and footage while Kvedaravicius was on the battlefield preparing a new film and providing humanitarian aid. She completed the film, which was presented at a special screening at the Cannes Film Festival 2022.
