The Councillor for Tourism of Madrid City Council, Almudena Maillo, stated on Monday night, during the closing ceremony of a business forum organised by the Business Council Alliance for Ibero-America (Ceapi), that the Spanish capital is among the ten best cities in the world for investment.

Maillo presided over the gala dinner which closed the Forum “Madrid, capital of Ibero-American internationalisation: How to invest in Madrid” in the gardens of Cecilio Rodríguez, in which Ceapi brought together company presidents, business families, investors and family offices from Spain and Latin America, who analysed the investment opportunities offered by the Spanish capital, and highlighted the role of Madrid and Spain as a company holding company, and as a bridge to promote investment and strengthen strategic links between Europe and America.

The Councillor for Tourism, who is also Secretary General of the Union of Ibero-American Cities and Capitals, stressed that Madrid has taken giant steps forward in its international position and said: “We are the economic engine of Spain; we are among the ten best cities in the world for investment, and we want to continue strengthening ties with the Ibero-American community. The best Madrid in history is among us”.

For her part, Núria Vilanova, President of Ceapi, encouraged those present at the dinner to “continue to support Madrid as the capital of Ibero-America”.

“In meetings like this, things always happen, and today’s event will result in new investments, or even an IPO,” said Vilanova, who urged them to meet again to strengthen ties and continue to address issues of interest to Ibero-America “at the next Ceapi Congress, which will take place in Madrid on 31 May and 1 June 2023”.
