The Secretary for Economic Development, Tourism and Fisheries of Mazatlán, Ricardo Jesús Velarde, accompanied by a delegation from this Mexican city in the state of Sinaloa, held a meeting yesterday at the headquarters of the Business Confederation with the Director General of CEOE International and Permanent Secretary of CEIB, Narciso Casado, to analyse possibilities for bilateral cooperation.
In addition, the secretary presented the business and investment opportunities that exist in key sectors of the city, such as tourism, fishing, agriculture, real estate development and logistics, among others.
Narciso Casado, in turn, stressed the importance of the role of business organisations in their educational work, supporting and encouraging companies in their internationalisation process and promoting investment in third markets, especially in Africa, Europe and Latin America.
Casado also stressed the work carried out by the Ibero-American Business Council-CEIB to ensure that companies in the region occupy the place they deserve, thanks to the intense activity it carries out through its 24 member organisations.
In this regard, Casado stressed the importance of having up-to-date information on business opportunities and key sectors in order to promote the possibilities of bilateral cooperation.
Velarde assured that Mazatlan will be the largest national destination for hotel occupancy in 2020 and 2021 and stated that Spain is the first export destination for Mazatlan, unlike other states.
On the other hand, he highlighted the launch of the Mazatlán Logistic Center, the first world-class logistics/industrial park in the city, taking into account that it is a natural hub for distribution.
