Authors: Several authors.

Relations between Spain and the German Democratic Republic, socialist Germany, were a two-way street. People, ideas, material objects and cultural creations crossed the Iron Curtain and the Berlin Wall in both directions. This book is the first attempt to provide an overview of the encounters and misunderstandings between the two countries. The authors, Spanish and German specialists, explore the official relations between states and the links between the communist parties, the trade unions, the work of the Stasi, the economy, literature, cinema, tourism and the consequences of the legacy of the Civil War in both countries. The Other Germany is an impulse to deepen our knowledge of this disappeared German state.
