In the framework of the European Day of Jewish Culture, the Jewish Community of Madrid and Centro Sefarad-Israel are organising the violin concert Contemporary Jewish Women Composers on Wednesday 7 September at 6 p.m. at the headquarters of Centro Sefarad-Israel (Calle Mayor, 69).

With the aim of recognising the work of different contemporary Jewish women composers, Cecilia Bercovich (in the photo), a versatile violin, viola and viola d’amore player, will take a look at the current musical creations of three world-renowned female composers: Lera Auerbach (1973), Hilat Ben-Kennaz (1970) and Betty Olivero (1954). In this way, it will be possible to reflect and deepen on the meaning of the timbre of a solo instrument: a true inner monologue that is poured out to the public, connecting with the ideas of its author. Free admission, subject to confirmation by clicking on this link.
