King Felipe VI received yesterday at the Royal Palace in Madrid the Letters of Credence of seven ambassadors posted to Spain. They are the new Heads of Mission of Poland, Peru, Panama, South Africa, Austria, Kenya and Germany.

The first to enter the Official Chamber was the Polish Ambassador, Ana Marta Sroka, followed by the new Ambassador of Peru, Oscar José Ricardo Maúrtua de Romaña.

After them it was the turn of the Ambassador of Panama, Allen Jackson Sellers Lara, the new Ambassador of South Africa, Sankie Dolly Mthembi-Mahanyele, and the Ambassador of Austria, Enno Drofefenik.

Next to complete the formalities at the Royal Palace was the Ambassador of Kenya, Michael Adipo Okoth Oyugi, while the last was the new Ambassador of Germany, Maria Margarette Gosse.

The King was accompanied by the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Luis Cuesta, as the Minister, José Manuel Albares, who usually accompanies the monarch on these occasions, is in New York on the occasion of the UN General Assembly.

Once the protocol ceremony had been completed, Don Felipe held a brief private meeting with all of them in the Nuncio’s Room, as is customary.
