musical blockbuster ‘Matilda’ arrives at Teatro Alcalá Palace

September 23, 2022
in Entertainment, Espectáculos, Leisure

Books, books and lots of magic and humour… This is the charm of the musical Matilda, which is coming to the Teatro Alcalá Palace in Madrid and can be seen until 27 November. This multi-award winning musical by the Royal Shakespeare Company is based on the novel by Roald Dahl, an author who has sold more than 250 million books.

This new blockbuster, produced by the creative team that brought the musical Billy Elliot, once again surprises with the commitment and skill of the children who play the roles of Matilda and her classmates. The dance numbers are perfectly synchronised and full of a commendable energy for “kids” of this age.

Also noteworthy are the actors and singers of a cast full of good professionals who, together with the staging and the music, make Matilda one of the great musicals that have been premiered lately in Madrid.

Matilda is a work full of feelings, emotion and humour, with a soundtrack composed of wonderful songs that enhance the strength and delicacy of its story and with incredible choreographies that work with the precision of a perfect machine.

The musical is unanimously recognised as one of the most difficult productions to stage due to its great complexity, the large number of children it requires and the extraordinary skills they must have in order to develop their characters. In order to play the role with the level of excellence that this play demands, they will have received more than 24 months of training prior to the rehearsals. Tickets can be purchased at this link.
