La chica salvaje (Where the Crawdads Sing), a film based on the bestseller by Delia Owens, produced by Reese Witherspoon and Lauren Neustadter, arrives today in Spanish cinemas.

Directed by SXSW winner Olivia Newman, the film stars Daisy Edgar-Jones, Taylor John Smith, Harris Dickinson, Michale Hyatt and veteran David Strathairn.

From the best-selling novel comes a captivating mystery. La chica salvaje tells the story of Kya, an abandoned child raised to adulthood in the dangerous swamps of North Carolina. For years, rumors of the “Swamp Girl” haunted Barkley Cove, isolating the wily and resilient Kya from her community. Drawn to two young men in town, Kya opens herself up to a startling new world; but when one of them is found dead, the community immediately points to her as the prime suspect. As the case unfolds, the verdict on what really happened becomes increasingly muddled and threatens to reveal the many secrets that lie in the swamp.
