The Government of Spain yesterday “strongly condemned the illegal voting drills” organized this past Tuesday in Ukraine by the Russian Government of Vladimir Putin.
In a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Government assured that “it does not grant any credibility or legitimacy to the fictitious results announced by the occupying forces.” “Spain categorically rejects any action or decision that may be taken by the Russian authorities tending to the illegal annexation of those territories,” it continued.
Likewise, the Executive of Pedro Sánchez reiterated its “firm support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine within its internationally recognized borders” and made “a new appeal to Russia to cease its armed aggression and proceed to the immediate, complete and unconditional withdrawal of its troops from all Ukrainian territory.”
On the other hand, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, José Manuel Albares, yesterday conveyed to his counterparts from Sweden, Ann Linde, and Denmark, Jeppe Kofod, “Spain’s solidarity and support in the face of the sabotages in the gas pipelines off their coasts”, in relation to the leaks registered in the Nord Stream pipelines. “We are united in the defense of European security,” he added via Twitter.
