The Diplomat
Andres Rundu has been appointed Estonia’s new ambassador to Spain, replacing Mariin Ratnik, who has been in the country for the past three years.
It so happens that Mariin Ratnik will in turn replace Andres Rundu as head of the Estonian State Secretariat for Economy, Trade and Development.
Rundu knows Spain well, as he was ambassador to our country for the first time between 2004 and 2009 and had previously studied at the Diplomatic School in Madrid.
A graduate of the Tallinn Pedagogical Institute in 1983 with a specialisation in mathematics and physics education, Andres Rundu has also served as Estonian ambassador to Portugal and under-secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
