In the framework of the 202nd anniversary of the beginning of the Mexican emancipation, Fundación Casa de México in Spain celebrates the Fiesta del Grito de la Independencia with two shows that cannot be missed in this exceptional commemoration: a presentation of Mexican folkloric dances and a mariachi musical recital.
The celebration begins at 6 p.m. with Mexican dances by Leyendas de México. This group will travel the country’s geography to give an account of the richness of Mexico’s regional dances, the result of the multiculturalism and ethnic diversity present in Mexico’s geography.
Leyendas de México, directed by folkloric dancer and restorer Ana Paola de la Cruz Arias, is a group formed by people passionate about Mexican folkloric roots. Its main objective is to promote Mexican culture through regional dance expressions.
This will be followed at 7.30 p.m. by a mariachi music recital by Mariachi Charros de Jalisco. The group will offer a concert in which some of the most important pieces of the popular repertoire of vernacular music will be performed: El jarabe tapatío, México lindo, Viva México or 15 de septiembre will be some of the pieces with which Charros de Jalisco will celebrate this celebration.
Mariachi Charros de Jalisco is a group formed in Spain in 1997, under the direction of Roberto Godoy. It is made up of vihuela, guitar, guitarrón, trumpet, violins, accordion and male and female voices.
