From 1 September, the Teatro Reina Victoria in Madrid (Calle del Pez, 17) premieres the play Adictos, a dystopian thriller that reflects on the near future and questions the paradigms of today’s society.

The play is performed by actresses Lola Herrera, Lola Baldrich and Ana Labordeta, and directed by Magüi Mira.

Estela Anderson, a scientist of international prestige and extraordinary intelligence, is played by Lola Herrera. Doctor Soler, head of the psychiatry department of an advanced hospital, will be embodied by Lola Baldrich. And Eva Landau, renowned journalist and writer, will receive her breath from Ana Labordeta. A social and political adventure, full of unexpected emotions.

Communication and incommunication, loneliness, freedom and the excessive use of technology are some of the themes dealt with in this text written by Daniel Dicenta Herrera and Juanma Gómez. Adictos arises from the need to address a problem that affects us all: to what extent are we subjugated by technology? Are we really free? What kind of society have we built? What is the outlook for the near future? Do we really deserve to be called “human beings”? Tickets can be purchased here.
