The Diplomat
The Minister of Defence, Margarita Robles, yesterday showed her respect for the Ukrainian ambassador in Madrid, Serhii Pohoreltsev, who regretted on Tuesday that Spain is not providing his country with all the military weapons it could to confront the Russian invasion.
According to Robles, the Ukrainian ambassador’s reaction was due to the fact that “he is under a lot of pressure”. The minister insisted that on Tuesday Spain announced that it would redouble its military aid to Ukraine and has already prepared material to be placed at the disposal of the Kyiv authorities immediately.
Yesterday in Madrid, Robles visited the Quartermaster’s Supply Centre and Park at the San Cristóbal-Villaverde Barracks, where, “after a month of intense work”, the 1,600 pallets containing 200 tonnes of uniforms and complementary equipment for cold climates that Spain is going to send to Ukraine are already prepared.
