The Minister of Defence, Margarita Robles, yesterday responded to criticism of the delay in sending arms to Ukraine by assuring that the latter “is very grateful” for Spain’s humanitarian collaboration and its shipments of material, reports Europa Press.
During a visit to the San Marcial Army Division in Burgos, Robles stressed that the Ukrainian ambassador, Serhii Pohoreltsev, conveyed to her ten days ago his “utmost gratitude” for the relationship that Spain has maintained with his country since the Russian invasion.
“Spain is with Ukraine”, the minister assured, before insisting that collaboration with the country is “constant”, although she maintained that “it is reasonable” that in a country at war, it is better “the less information is given about shipments”.
Margarita Robles predicted a “difficult and complicated winter” in which Russia will use power cuts against the entire international community. “We have to be very united”, she concluded.
