The Spanish government has granted Senegal a repayable loan on OECD commercial terms, amounting to 138.7 million euros for the modernisation of an airport in the country.

The loan, from the Fund for the Internationalisation of Enterprise (FIEM), was approved by the Council of Ministers on Monday and will be used to finance a project to digitalise tourism and airport operations by the Société Anonyme Aéroport International Blaise Diagne / Ministère de l’Economie, du Plan et la Coopération.

The amount of the loan granted is EUR 124.7 million plus the premium financed (up to EUR 14 million), for a total of up to EUR 138.7 million.
