The ambassador of El Salvador, Mauricio Peñate, presented last Thursday 21 July in his residence the collection “El Salvador is in Fashion”, elaborated by artisans of his country, headed by the designer René Barrera, in the framework of the commercial diplomacy promoted by our government.
This textile exhibition was characterised by its environmental friendliness, as well as the creativity of the accessories that accompany it. The slogan is no coincidence,” said the Salvadoran ambassador, “our country is undergoing very important transformations in different areas such as health and pandemic management. We have been recognised internationally for developing a hospital with 1,000 ICU beds in record time.”
“We have also been recognised,” Ambassador Mauricio Peñate continued, “in tourism by positioning our country for the excellent waves as a surfing destination with the Surf City brand, transforming agriculture, training our farmers and increasing productivity. In terms of trade, we have promoted our exportable offer with Salvadoran products, now since last year already distributed in Spain by our good Spanish businessman friend Sergio Hermosa.”
“In terms of investment,” the ambassador indicated, “we are bringing more Spanish companies that have trusted El Salvador and have been in our lands for more than 20 years, such as the tuna company Grupo Calvo, which has one of its tuna plants in our country, among others. In my country we are working to make a better place to live, with new laws such as ‘Nacer con cariño’ (Born with love), promoted by our first lady Gabriela de Bukele, which changes the way we receive our babies with a dignified birth. That is to say, for all this and for many reasons that I could go on listing all afternoon, El Salvador is in fashion”.
