The State Secretary for Foreign and Global Affairs, Ángeles Moreno Bau, co-chaired yesterday the first meeting of the Working Group between Spain and Morocco on Trade and Infrastructure, “one of the main commitments included in the roadmap agreed last April 7,” as she announced through her Twitter account.
“Spain and Morocco share a natural space of exchange and interconnection,” she continued. “We work together to identify areas in which it is possible to boost the economic relationship between our countries,” she added. The State Secretary for Trade, Xiana Méndez, also participated in the meeting.
The roadmap was agreed last April 7 in Rabat between the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, and the King of Morocco, Mohamed VI, following the Spanish decision to recognize the autonomy plan for Western Sahara. The joint statement signed by the two leaders highlights the creation of at least six “working groups” on various areas, whose conclusions will be presented to the High Level Meeting “to be held before the end of this year”.
